Review aggregation and testimonial widgets
Goodword vs Shapo: an honest Shapo alternative
Shapo details read from shapo.io on 1 September 2026. Goodword is an independent product and is not affiliated with Shapo.
What Shapo is
Shapo collects testimonials and, more importantly, imports existing reviews from more than 20 platforms including Google, Capterra, Facebook and social, then displays them all through widgets and a Wall of Love page. Its pricing is the simplest in the category: one free plan, one paid plan.
It also states the free-plan behaviour more plainly than anyone else, and that statement is the reason Goodword exists in its current form.
Shapo details below were read from shapo.io on 1 September 2026.
Who it is for. Businesses that already have reviews scattered across third-party platforms and mainly need them gathered into one branded display.
Shapo pricing
| Plan | Price | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0/mo | Up to 10 testimonials, unlimited widgets, forms and tags, video and image collection, Wall of Love page, Review Booster page, Shapo branding, no time limit |
| Pro | $29/mo (yearly gives 2 months free) | Unlimited testimonials, imports from 20+ platforms, 500 email campaign invites per month, Shapo branding removed |
Shapo's own pricing page states that once you reach the free-plan testimonial limit, "incoming testimonials will not be visible, and importing from third-party sources will be restricted". That is the clearest description in the category of the pattern Goodword is built to avoid: new praise arrives and silently stops appearing.

Where Goodword is different
Goodword does one job: collect written testimonials through a shared link, curate them, and put them on your website as a fast embed. The difference is not the feature list, it is what gets counted. Nothing does. There is no testimonial cap, no widget-view allowance, no per-space charge, and the review structured data that helps those quotes earn search visibility is on the free plan rather than behind an upgrade.
It is also deliberately small. The list below of what Goodword cannot do is not a roadmap apology, it is the reason the product is cheap and fast.
Pros and cons
Shapo: strengths
- Imports from 20+ review platforms, which Goodword cannot match.
- Only two plans, so there is nothing to decode.
- Unlimited widgets, forms and tags even on the free plan.
- Video and image collection included.
Shapo: limitations
- The free cap is not just a limit, it makes new testimonials invisible, which can quietly stall a collection campaign.
- $29/mo is at the top of the entry-price range for a two-plan product.
- Aggregation depends on your reviews already existing somewhere else.
Goodword: strengths
- No cap, so nothing ever becomes invisible.
- Review schema free.
- No iframe.
- Free complete export.
Goodword: limitations
- No official platform connectors, which is Shapo's central feature.
- No email campaign invites.
- No video or image testimonial capture beyond an avatar photo and a video link.
- New product with no track record.
The limitations listed for Shapo are drawn from its own published plan structure, not from customer reviews, and are not presented as complaints from users.
Verdict: which one should you pick
| If this is you | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your reviews live on Google, Capterra or Trustpilot already | Shapo | Importing them is the whole job and Shapo does it natively. |
| You are collecting testimonials directly for the first time | Goodword | There is nothing to import, and no cap to run into. |
| You expect more than 10 testimonials and want to stay free | Goodword | On Shapo, testimonials past the cap stop being visible. |
| You want email invitation campaigns | Shapo | 500 invites a month on Pro. Goodword has no email sending yet. |
Frequently asked questions
- Is Shapo worth it?
- If you have reviews spread across several platforms, yes: $29/mo to pull them into one branded widget is a fair trade. If you are starting from zero reviews, you are paying mainly for a feature you cannot use yet.
- What happens when you hit Shapo's free limit?
- Shapo's pricing page states that incoming testimonials become invisible and third-party importing is restricted. Read it yourself before relying on the free plan.
- What is the best Shapo alternative?
- Senja if you want imports plus a content pipeline, Trustmary if you want surveys and CRM integrations, Goodword if you want uncapped first-party collection with free review schema.
- Is Goodword a good Shapo alternative?
- For first-party collection, yes. For aggregating existing third-party reviews, no, because Goodword has no platform connectors.
- What is cheaper, Shapo or Goodword?
- The paid plans are the same price, $29/mo each. Goodword's free plan is uncapped where Shapo stops at 10 testimonials and then hides new ones, so the difference is in what free gets you rather than what paid costs.
Ten minutes will settle it
Create a space, send yourself the collection link, submit a testimonial and paste the embed into a page. If it does not suit you, Shapo is a good product and this page has tried to say honestly where it is the better one.
