Terms of use
Short, and honest about the fact that this is a new product with gaps in it.

The service
Goodword lets you collect testimonials through a shareable link, curate them, and embed them on a website. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
What you are getting today
Everything currently working is free. Billing is not connected, so no paid plan can be bought, and the Pro and Agency plans on the pricing page are published intentions rather than products. Nothing on this site is a commitment to ship a particular feature on a particular date.
The following do not exist: video recording and hosting, audio testimonials, email or SMS invitations and reminders, review-platform connectors, surveys, team seats, an API with webhooks, and password reset. If any of those are load-bearing for you, this is not yet the right tool.
Your content stays yours
You keep every right in the testimonials, names, photos and text in your account. You grant us only the narrow licence needed to run the service: to store your content, process the images, and serve it to visitors through the widget and public wall that you chose to publish. We do not use your content to market Goodword without asking you first.
Your responsibilities as a customer
You are the controller of the testimonials you collect. That means:
- Only send the collection link to people who genuinely dealt with you. Do not write testimonials in someone else’s name.
- Do not edit a testimonial so that it says something the author did not mean. Publishing a fabricated or materially altered review is a breach of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 in the UK and of the FTC’s rule on consumer reviews in the US. It is also a breach of these terms.
- Handle removal requests from the people who wrote them. We will pass any that reach us on to you.
- Have a lawful basis for the personal data you collect, and a privacy notice of your own covering it.
What you may not do
- Use the service for anything unlawful, or to publish content that is defamatory, harassing, obscene or infringing.
- Upload malware, or attempt to break, overload or circumvent the rate limits or access controls.
- Resell the service as your own without a written agreement with us.
- Scrape or bulk-extract other customers’ data.
We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these rules. Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you first.
Availability
There is no uptime guarantee and no service level agreement. The service is provided as is and as available. It is a young product hosted on infrastructure we do not own, and it may be interrupted, changed or withdrawn.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the previous twelve months, which is currently zero, or £100. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending it
You can stop at any time. Export your testimonials as JSON or CSV from the dashboard first, then ask us to close the account and we will delete it and its contents. We may end the arrangement with reasonable notice, and if we ever shut the service down we will give you time to export before anything is deleted.
Other companies’ names
The comparison pages name competing products. Those names and trademarks belong to their owners. Goodword is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them. Figures on those pages were read from public pricing pages on the dates stated on each page and may be out of date by the time you read them.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
